Creative Exchange Artist Studios commissioned Deirdre Robb to create ECHOS, an outdoor light based installation and in the Portview Trade Centre on the Newtownards Road.
Robb used the architectural elements of the old mill building – one of the few to successfully survive in Belfast – by highlighting its curves, functionality and shape. Reflecting the current and historical use the building has been used for. Portview Trade Centre is an old linen spinning mill which ceased trading in the 1980’s when it was later converted into usable work spaces for small businesses.
